Barbara Ohlsen

Barbara (Hart) Ohlsen (affectionately known as Baba) was a 100 year old native of California. She was born in San Francisco on March 21, 1925, and passed away at home in Rocklin, CA, on December 18, 2025.

 

She was a loving wife to the late George Ohlsen (affectionately known as Papa), whom she met at a church dance, and mother of the late Timothy Ohlsen and Susan Ohlsen. She is survived by her daughter, Deb Tomlinson; two grandchildren, Erica Tomlinson (husband, Steve Carne) and Andrea Tomlinson; and two great-grandchildren, Isa and Ian Carne.

 

Faith, family, and friendship were the heart of her life. She was an avid reader who enjoyed her family visits and made it a point to have weekly social check-ins with friends. Barbara also found joy in outings. Her younger years were marked by a love of gardening, cooking, sewing and various arts and crafts. While raising their family she worked at California Canners and Growers in Sunnyvale CA for 11 years.

 

The funeral mass will be held at

St. Peter and Paul Church at 10:30 am on March 28, 2026
